Blackjack is one of the most popular and exciting casino games. In this video, we’ll show you the basic rules all Blackjack players should know. In Blackjack, all players play against the dealer and to win, a player needs to have a hand closer to 21 than the dealer. If the player’s card value goes over 21 that’s a “Bust” and that player loses regardless of what the dealer does. A player also wins when the dealer Busts and the player doesn’t.
One of the most important things to remember is the value of each card. Numbered cards are all counted at face value. Jacks, queens and kings have a value of ten. Aces can be either one or eleven. When a player is dealt an Ace and a card with a value of Ten, this is called a Blackjack. If a player is dealt a Blackjack, they will automatically win the hand unless matched by the dealer. In that case, the hand is a push.
How to play a hand of Blackjack – Now it’s time to focus on the game-play. The game kicks off with a bet being placed. The players and the dealer are dealt two cards each but players can only see one of the dealer’s cards. Players act first and have 4 options: Standing. If a player is happy with the first two cards, they can decide to stand. Hitting. When a player asks for additional cards until they decide to stand or they go bust. Doubling down. This means placing a second bet equal to the first and being dealt one additional card. Splitting a pair. If a player’s first two cards are a pair, they can be split and played in two separate hands. Once players are finished building their hands, the dealer will reveal the down card and decide whether he should hit or stand. If neither players nor the dealer Busts, the cards will be compared and the highest sum wins. If both the player and the dealer have the same Sum, it’s a tie. This is called a Push and the bets are returned.
Payouts – Blackjack is famous for its’ high rewards. Winning bets pay 1 to 1 unless a player wins with a Blackjack which pays out at 1.5 to 1. If your bet was 20 and you hit a Blackjack, your payout will be 50. If you win with any other hand, your payout will be 40.
