ogonet data partnership with SEMrush has revealed traffic numbers of the online gambling sector and search volume data related to the gaming industry for June.
Global data of top gambling websites by traffic shows bet365.com leading with 222,793,822 users (over 70% coming from mobile devices), a significant increase from 173.4 million reported in May. Caliente.mx came next with 82,082,090 (83% from mobile), and freebitco.in was third with 53,794,972. Both of them saw decreases as compared to the previous month.
Moreover, the top gambling websites in the US more than doubled in June. The Florida Lottery (flalottery.com) led the ranking with 22,389,643 users, over 127% up from May. It was followed by the lotterypost.com, whose traffic numbers saw a spike, climbing from 7.9 million to 17,089,935. The Texas Lottery (txlottery.org) kept the third place with 12,326,757 users, nearly doubling May numbers.
UK top gambling websites saw monthly increases as well in June, when more sporting events kept returning and expanding gambling options. Bet365 heads the list with 33,829,486 users, up from 24.6 million in May. Skybet came next with 23,144,153, a growth from its 18.7 million reported the prior month. William Hill and Betfair followed them with 17,911,716 and 17,389,298, respectively.
SEMrush also works with search volume data related to the gaming industry, based on the average number of times a specific search query is entered on a search engine per month. The top global English keywords searched in June were “lottery” (4,090,000 times), followed by “online games” (2,740,000) and “casino” (1,830,000). The same ranking order was true in the US and the UK.
As for online gambling-related questions, “is gambling a sin” and “what is gambling” came first with 6,600 times each in June, the same numbers as the previous three months, followed by “How to stop gambling” (3,600). “How old do you have to be to gamble” came next, increasing from 2,900 searches in May to 4,400 times in June.
