Gambling software company Scientific Games Corp. has teamed up with Tipico to power the major European gambling operator’s entry into the New Jersey iGaming market.
Tipico boasts massive presence in key markets across Europe and is now looking to venture into the United States.
New Jersey is the first state the operator is planning to enter as part of its US expansion campaign. Tipico has applied for a license from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and its launch in the Garden State is pending regulatory approval.
As part of the recently signed deal between the Malta-headquartered gambling operator and Scientific Games, the provider will support Tipico’s entry into the regulated New Jersey market. Scientific Games will do this by providing the operator with access to its Open Gaming System aggregation platform as well as its OpenGaming product suite.
The provider’s extensive library contains more than 2,000 online casino games, including in-house developed gaming titles and content from a range of third-party game development studios.
Tipico expects the launch of the SG Digital OpenGaming ecosystem to provide it with the necessary iGaming products and experience to attract and retain players in the competitive New Jersey iGaming market.
A Strong Foundation
Scientific Games’ OpenGaming library has already enjoyed great success in New Jersey. Aside from access to a wide range of titles, it also delivers innovative features such as Free Rounds and Jackpots that aim to increase player engagement.
Of their partnership with Tipico, Dylan Slanley, SVP Casino for SG Digital, said that the operator’s decision to pick OpenGaming to power its online casino in New Jersey “demonstrates the quality of our proposition and reaffirms our position as a leading supplier in the state of New Jersey.”
Adrian Vella, Managing Director of Tipico’s US business, said that they are thrilled to be teaming up with Scientific Games and to provide their US sportsbook customers with “a robust new iGaming offering.”
The Tipico executive went on to say that with its extensive experience in the regulated US market, huge content library, and proven platform, Scientific Games provides his company with a “strong foundation to build from as we continue to expand our gaming offerings.”
Tipico has revealed plans to launch both its sportsbook and online casino offering in New Jersey in the fall of 2020, in time for the start of the new NFL season. The company has teamed up with Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City to secure its Garden State market entry.
As mentioned earlier, Tipico awaits regulatory approval from New Jersey gambling regulators in order to be able to launch its offering in the local market.
