alifornia’s Chumash Casino Resort has installed Rye Park Gaming physical barriers at its Poker Room.

Nestled in Santa Barbara County’s wine country in Santa Ynez, the Chumash Casino Resort offers a 24/7 gaming floor and a AAA Four Diamond-rated hotel. The 240,000 square-foot gaming complex features 2,400 slot machines, 45 table games and a poker room, among other amenities.

The complex temporarily closed in March prior to California stay-at-home order, then reopened on June 10 with heightened safety measures and enhanced cleaning protocols throughout the property. The resort’s primary focus for reopening has been implementing measures to help keep its guests and employees safe and well during the COVID-19 crisis. This is including, but not limited to, increased cleaning and disinfection, personal protective equipment (PPE), physical barriers and social distancing.

For physical barriers at its poker room, the Chumash Casino Resort turned to Rye Park Gaming. The shields are on each of the room’s 10 tables, which have seen significant action since the room was reintroduced on July 24.

“The safety of our guests and team members is the top priority. For me, as someone who is immunocompromised, I didn’t want to put a product out there that I didn’t feel safe using myself,” said Sean Smith, Poker Room Manager for the Chumash Casino Resort. “With the shields, coupled with the new protocols we have in place, our players can have an enjoyable experience at the poker table while feeling safe at the same time.”

“It was a pleasure working with Chumash Casino Resort on the custom acrylic poker shields for their poker room,” commented Randy Ying, President of Rye Park Gaming.
