Yggdrasil releases highly anticipated sequel Valley of the Gods 2

Casino News

Gibraltar and Malta-based online gaming solutions provider Yggdrasil Gaming Ltd has released its latest title Valley of the Gods 2, the highly-anticipated sequel to its 2017 smash hit, Valley of the Gods.

An “instant classic,” the original version of the ancient Egyptian-themed game proved so popular with players that building the sequel was a no-brainer. The new version builds on the success of the original, delivering even more excitement for fans to enjoy!

Rather than the 5-reel rectangle of the first iteration, Valley of the Gods 2 presents as a 6-reel video slot with rows that expand from 3 to 8. Scarab patterned blocker tiles surround the active reel positions, lending to the sideways pyramid look of the game. Three modifier meters are situated to the left of the reels while palm trees and pyramids provide the background.

“The sequel has everything we loved from the original and more.”

Both the volatility and the RTP rate of the sequel have been increased slightly, at medium to high and 96.3 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the game’s symbols include 9-A card values along with the ancient Egyptian gods, Anubis, Horus, Sobek, and Bastet. The latter is the most valuable, awarding 20x the stake when six of the cat gods line up.

Feature-packed:

In addition to the simple gameplay mechanic, one that is widely accepted by both casual and more advanced player types, the game additionally offers collectible wilds. A new feature, the latter is a “key” to the game’s increased variance and huge wins of up to 5,481 times the bet.

The variable reel slot offers up to 20,160 ways to win, each one of which, in addition to creating a respin, releases a white scarab which eliminates a blocker. Within the 33 total symbol positions, players are challenged with destroying as many of the scarab symbol blockers as possible.  If a player manages to destroy all of the blockers, extra features such as Wild Reels, Win Multipliers, and Extra Lives, can be triggered.

Scarab collections:

Players are awarded one extra life for every five red scarabs they collect, which gives them an additional respin when they no longer have any winning spins left. The respin feature is over when all the lives are spent. Meanwhile, landing five blue scarabs on the reels, increases Win Multipliers by 1x, also lasting until the end of the feature. When there are no longer any winning combinations and all of a player’s lives are gone, the total win is then added to his or her’s balance.

If a player collects five yellow scarabs, one reel is added and remains until it wins.

Huge winning potential:

Jonas Strandman, Senior Product Strategist at Yggdrasil, said: Valley of the Gods became an instant classic from its simple but deep gameplay and thrilling re-spin rounds. The sequel has everything we loved from the original and more. Packed with plenty of modifiers, Valley of the Gods 2 can turn any spin into a huge win up to 5481 times the bet for our fans across the globe.

“The new wild reel feature shows up on a regular basis and can give huge win combinations and combining it with a multiplier is marvellous. We are confident our partners and their players will love the game.”

Enhanced portfolio:

The new game is the latest in the Cherry AB subsidiary’s fast-growing proprietary slots portfolio, which has recently been enhanced further by the addition of the innovative titles Lucky Neko Gigabox, released on June 24, along with Jackpot Express, and Multifly, which made one lucky player 97,000 EUR richer during its pre-launch earlier this year.

The new online slot also joins the company’s diverse YG Masters content, created jointly with its boutique studio partners such as rapidly emerging games studio True Lab and many others.
