Yggdrasil Enters Swiss Market with Grand Casino Luzern

Latest News

Online casino games maker and publisher Yggdrasil is set to enter Switzerland’s regulated iGaming market through a recently inked distribution deal with one of the largest locally licensed operators.

Yggdrasil has teamed up with Grand Casino Luzern to provide the operator’s online casino brand mycasino.ch with access to its games portfolio.

The recent deal will see Yggdrasil integrate its content with mycasino.ch and make its ever-growing library of games available to the online casino’s players. Newly released Yggdrasil games Syncronite Splitz, Hades Gigablox, Valley of the Gods 2, and Hyperburst will all soon go live on mycasino.ch.

The partnership between Yggdrasil and the Swiss casino also covers titles from the provider’s fast growing YG Masters program portfolio. YG Masters was launched early this year as part of Yggdrasil’s Publishing arm. The program aims to provide independent casino game development studios with the opportunity to design, develop, and distribute high-quality content and benefit from Yggdrasil’s global network of operator partners, advanced technology, and promotional tools.

Since its launch, the program has welcomed some of the most promising independent game makers to its ranks.

Swiss Expansion

Yggdrasil’s partnership with Grand Casino Luzern marks the provider’s Swiss market debut. Switzerland regulated online casinos in the summer of 2019. Grand Casino Luzern, one of the country’s most popular land-based casinos, was among the first to receive a license for the provision of iGaming services from Swiss regulators.

The casino’s mycasino.ch iGaming brand was launched in August 2019 to become Switzerland’s second online casino. It has enjoyed a rapid growth since its market debut.

Commenting on their partnership with Grand Casino Luzern, Yggdrasil Chief of Global Market Operations Björn Krantz said that they are thrilled to venture into Switzerland through this link-up with Grand Casino Luzern.

Mr. Krantz went on to say that their market entry is one more milestone achievement that demonstrates their “organizational strength to deliver on our business strategy and our commitment to expanding our footprint into high-value regulated markets.”

The Yggdrasil official also expressed their excitement with the opportunity to reach more players with their ever-growing portfolio of content and that they are working closely with Grand Casino Luzern “on the planning for a successful launch to take place soon.”

Grand Casino Luzern CEO Wolfgang Bliem said that Yggrasil is a market-leading slots supplier with a diverse portfolio of titles that stand the test of time as well as new and thrilling online casino games that “never fail to impress.”

Mr. Bliem also noted that they are delighted to soon be able to offer Yggdrasil’s games to their players through their online casino and that they look forward to a very successful collaboration with the provider.
