Station Casinos Offers Summer Internship Program

Station Casinos announced the launch of an internship program for any enthusiastic candidate, who wants to spend the summer of 2021 living and working at a real casino facility.

As part of the Station Casinos Internship Program, future participants will be provided with housing in one of the company’s resort properties while learning the ins and outs of working in the hospitality and gaming industry from seasoned professionals.

The whole program will take 12 weeks and will entail a paid stipend of $7,200 ($1,200, paid biweekly) with housing (Red Rock Casino, Green Valley Ranch, Sunset Station, Palace Station). Meals are also included.

Interns are promised to learn everything there is no know about the work in the industry. They will gain hand-on experience and day-to-day operational learning within different departments, such as marketing, social media/ PR, hotel, human resources, casino operations, culinary, food and beverage, and finance.

Special Weekly Project

The program consists also with a weekly “Think Tank” project, which allows the interns to collaborate with Station Casinos leaders and operations teams to pitch innovation and strategic plans for the future both of the facility and of the students.

The fully immersive program will provide real-world experience from one of the largest employers in Las Vegas and is open to local and national applicants 21 and over.

In the face of the current coronavirus pandemic, leading brands in the industry are expanding by giving a chance for many enthusiasts to find out if they have vocation to work in the gambling business.

Station Casinos is not the only brand offering such an opportunity. Last week, Rivers Casino and its facility in Schenectady announced the opening of a free dealer school.

Each future student will participate in a six-week free course and they will have access to trainings on everything from blackjack to novelty table games.

Any participant who finishes the school and receives a New York State gaming license will be offered a full or part-time job at the Schenectady gambling venue.

The school’s first course will begin on March 1 and it will take place at the casino’s existing training center, which is located on 220 Harborside Drive suite 201 in Schenectady.

Afternoon classes will be held between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. while evening classes will run between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. There will be also a morning class, which will be held between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. but these will start from March 15.

The future Rivers Casino table games dealers with get access to a number of benefits, including paid time off, medical/dental/vision plan, a 401(k) plan and tuition reimbursement.
