There are two states where betting on sports could be legalized soon. A Georgia sports betting bill, which has been approved by the state Senate, and legislation in Kansas, which was approved by the Senate there.
Georgia’s bill will head to the House to be considered. In it’s current form, the bill would need to amend the state constitution in order to legalize sports betting. To do that, the matter would need to be approved by voters.
In Kansas, the bill would regulate betting on sports as an expansion of the state lottery. That regulation would come via one of the state’s four casinos. Each would be able to offer up to three mobile sports books and one retail sports book.
