T
he state’s Gaming Control Board issued a notice on Wednesday saying licensees with pools still have to comply with current COVID-19 mitigation protocols.
“Licensees are cautioned that if social distancing in the pool area cannot be maintained at 50% of listed fire code capacity, capacity must be reduced accordingly to meet the social distancing requirement.
The Board expects licensees to review and comply with the public and private gathering requirements set forth in Directive 037 in connection with all operations conducted on the licensees’ premises, including pool venues,” stated the GCB.
Six feet of distancing is required for all parts of the pool facility, according to the notice, and seating should be configured for appropriate distancing. Guests must also wear face coverings when not eating, drinking or in the pool.
Pool season arrives in Las Vegas each spring as the weather warms up. Last year’s season was effectively canceled when the COVID-19 outbreak led to a shutdown of all gaming properties from mid-March to early June.
