PointsBet first sportsbook to offer live same game parlay bet types for NFL and NBA

Industry

Online gaming operator PointsBet has become the first sportsbook to offer live, in-game, same game parlay bet options for NFL and NBA contests as part of its OddsFactory proprietary technology integration, the company announced on Thursday.

Clients of the ASX-listed bookmaker now have the ability “to instantly build” their PointsBet “Live Same Game Parlay” while tracking odds, player performance, and team stats, according to a press release.

“At PointsBet, we’re focused on refining our technology to ensure we’re aligning with the type of online sports betting experience our customers seek, and based on the trends we’re tracking, sports fans and bettors not only want to bet live, but they also want the ability to build a same game parlay live,” said Mark Hughes, Group Chief Operating Officer at PointsBet.

Customers will now have the ability to choose any live NFL and NBA event, select the “same game parlay” tab, and parlay multiple outcomes in that select game while watching live, the company explains.

Users will also have access to boost their live same game parlay odds with PointsBet’s daily Parlay Booster and, for the best user experience, customers can place a live same game parlay bet during timeouts and breaks in play.

“We’re thrilled to now be able to offer live same game betting opportunities to our customers, and to be the first sportsbook to do so is a testament to our team’s commitment to providing the best product and enhancing the user experience,” added Hughes.

PointsBet is an Approved Sportsbook Operator of the NFL, Authorized Sports Betting Operator of the NBA, and the Official Sports Betting Partner of NBC Sports. It currently operates sports wagering in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia, and online casinos in Michigan, New Jersey, and West Virginia.

“Elevating the betting experience for our customers and tapping into innovation is part of PointsBet’s core mission,” said Kyle Christensen, Chief Marketing Officer at PointsBet USA. “With the addition of our exclusive, live betting feature, we now have another way to help sports fans, and bettors embody the Live Your Bet Life mantra.”

The announcement builds upon another recent company landmark when on January 20 PointsBet became the first US sports betting provider to offer clients live, in-game betting opportunities with zero suspensions across the core markets of spread and moneyline.

The landmark was achieved as part of a test run during NBC’s broadcast of the NFL Wildcard Playoff game between the Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals. The company claims it has “broken ground” in the industry and called the testing of its “Always On” technology a success.

“While this test focused on the spread and moneyline markets, it also showed a glimpse into the future of where we can take our technology over time and offer a completely differentiated experience when betting in-play with PointsBet,’ Johnny Aitken, PointsBet USA CEO said at the time.

And last week, PointsBet became New York’s sixth mobile sportsbook operator. The company officially unveiled its mobile app and digital sports betting product on Tuesday, with the Empire State marking the ninth operational market for the company in the US.

“Launching in New York is a significant milestone for PointsBet, being one of nine approved online sports betting operators in the state,” commented Aitken. “New York’s passionate sports fans and bettors will now have access to the fastest online sports betting product in the market, with a live, in-game betting experience that PointsBet controls through our proprietary technology and a world-class team that is unrivaled.”
