Jake Daniels Victorious in Third PokerGO Cup Event of 2022; Defeats Ausmus Heads Up

The 2022 PokerGO Cup Event #3: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em came to a close Saturday afternoon at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas. What started with 80 entrants played down to a champion, and that individual was none other than Jake Daniels.

Daniels defeated three-time World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelet winner Jeremy Ausmus heads-up for the victory. He earned $200,000 in doing so, while the runner-up received $144,000.

Daniels the Latest PokerGO Cup Champ

Saturday’s winner became the third champion of the eight-event high roller series, each two-day tournaments. Daniel Colpoys shipped Event #1 and Sean Perry won the second, both $10,000 events.

Daniels now has $2.6 million in live tournament cashes according to the Hendon Mob database. The Texan is beginning to make a name for himself in tournaments as well as on various PokerGO productions.

Saturday was also the start of Event #4: $15,000 No-Limit Hold’em. When registration closed, there were 65 entrants paid. The final table will air on PokerGO starting at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Daniel Negreanu, the PokerGO Cup champion last year, appeared to be on his way to securing his first cash of the series, but he ended up finishing in 11th place right on the money bubble when his {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds} was outdrawn by Brock Wilson’s {q-Spades}{7-Clubs} when the {7-Spades} hit on the river.

Wilson, Ausmus, Cary Katz, and Alex Foxen were among the players remaining at the time of publishing.
