Bally’s Las Vegas Name Change Underway

Industry

A mere eight months after announcing that Bally’s Las Vegas would be re-branded as the Horseshoe, workers began removing the Bally’s name on the outside of the building. One by one the letters came down. And while that may seem like a big deal, there is so much more involved than what we can see on the building’s exterior.

As we approach the end of the year, guests can expect to see additional changes to the casino floor and other public areas, changes to food and beverage options, and new entertainment options including a classic arcade where the sportsbook used to be.

Guests who want to bet on sporting events need not worry, however, as the Caesars Entertainment will install a a new counter where wagers can be made. Another option will be the Caesars Sportsbook app, which guests are welcome to use while in the state of Nevada.

There were no announcements about the current Bally’s Las Vegas poker room being renovated or closed. However, given the rich history of poker at the original Horseshoe, and the fact that the site just hosted the World Series of Poker, our suspicion is that poker will be a big part of the new Horseshoe moving forward.

The company released a statement about the transformation, noting that the Horseshoe brand was “Started by a gambler for gamblers”. They added that the Horseshoe is about “…Making a gaming experience that is right for the gambler”, and that they want to make sure the brand stays “… true to its heritage, holding on to the thrilling spirit of no-limit betting”.

The modifications from Bally’s Las Vegas to the Horseshoe will be ongoing through the end of the year. This Week in Gambling looks forward to seeing some of them when we visit this October.
