As it made its debut in the Kansas sports gaming market during the first day of legalized betting last Thursday, BetMGM announced that same day that it has now entered into a multi-year agreement with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs to become one of the team’s first sports betting partners.

Under the terms of the deal, BetMGM signage will be portrayed inside GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The company’s content will also be featured across the Chief’s digital channels with special offers, game day experiences and prizes available to fans and season ticket members.

BetMGM Chief Revenue Officer Matt Prevost said: “With a rich history and a passionate fan base, the Kansas City Chiefs are an ideal partner. As we launch our sports betting platform in Kansas, we look forward to elevating the game day experience for Chiefs fans throughout the region.”

Chiefs President Mark Donovan added: “As an industry leader in the space, we are excited to welcome BetMGM to Chiefs Kingdom. We have invested significant time and energy advocating for sports wagering legislation and today’s announcement is going to open the doors for our fans to add to their experience for the 2022 season and beyond.”

Sports betting launched in the State of Kansas on September 1, debuting its market with a soft launch phase in which six pre-approved operators went live. The formal opening will be a week later, on September 8, in time for the NFL season kick-off. After launching in Kansas, BetMGM now operates in 24 markets with mobile and retail offerings.

BetMGM was among the first six platforms to launch. On the new market, CEO Adam Greenblatt said:We’re confident sports fans across the Sunflower State will enjoy the excitement of wagering with BetMGM. We would like to thank the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission, Kansas Lottery and Kansas Crossing Casino for being great partners and supporting our efforts.”

Kansas Governor Laura Kelly first announced the launch day of September 1 in mid-August, about three months after Senate Bill 84 was passed. The six licensed operators that have now launched in the state are Barstool Sports, BetMGM, Caesars, DraftKings, FanDuel and PointsBet.
