You Can Still Do Vegas on a Budget

Industry

If you’ve been paying attention to the latest news from Sin City then you know that visiting Vegas on a budget is becoming more and more challenging. In fact, we’ve recently published several articles about the changing odds of casino games there, along with the rising costs of travel and hotel rooms along the Strip, and even the prices of taxis and ride share services are on the rise.

However, in the midst of all the increases comes a ray of light in the form of Fremont Street. Downtown Las Vegas provides the classic Vegas atmosphere so many visitors appreciate. Each night, there’s  an open-air celebration takes place with live music, DJs, street performers, zip lines, restaurants, and of course the overhead canopy show.

With the exception of the amazing Circa resort casino, downtown properties are generally smaller and a bit older than those on the Strip. But older isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Think of the history! And because of this, staying at a downtown resort could help you visit Vegas on a budget much more than a comparable property on the Strip.

Now, the Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino, one of these downtown properties, is embracing this pricing advantage through its new initiative called the “Welcome Back to the Downtown Deal” program. The program consists of various offers throughout the hotel, aiming to recapture the nostalgia and value that Downtown Las Vegas is known for, as stated in a press release by the company.

A spokesperson for the Downtown Grand said their “Welcome Back to the Downtown Deal” is designed to deliver value for downtown Las Vegas. The resort will feature $1 Blackjack, $5 Craps and Roulette, shots of whiskey and beer for just $3.50, and even $2 hot dogs , and even free parking for gaming, dining, or hotel guests.

The Downtown Grand aims to provide both locals and tourists with an enticing alternative to the hotels on the Strip, while delivering Vegas on a budget the way things used to be. Previously, many downtown properties catered to locals who desired a gambling experience without having to pay for parking on the Las Vegas Strip.
