The biggest poker tournament in the world, the World Series of Poker Main Event, is over for 2023. And an American has won the WSOP title for the first time in a long time. Daniel Weinman , a 35 year old player from Atlanta took home the prestigious Gold Bracelet and a cool $12 million.

Weinman came out on top after a 10-day battle where he overcame a record field of over 10,000 players from all over the world. His incredible win set a new milestone as the largest first-place Main Event payout ever from the biggest prize pool in WSOP history of $93,399,900. To celebrate the WSOP title win, 2006 Main Event Champion Jamie Gold, presented Weinman with his bracelet.

The final day of play began with Steven Jones leading the pack with an impressive chip count of 238,000,000. However, Adam Walton was the first to bow out at the final table, falling victim to Weinman’s pocket aces. The tension escalated during the 23 hands of heads-up play, as both Jones and Weinman displayed pairs of jacks, but Weinman secured the upper hand with a King, locking up his WSOP title  dramatic fashion.

The WSOP Main Event bracelet was crafted exclusively by Jostens for the WSOP, and this year’s bracelet featured 500 grams of 10-karat yellow gold, adorned with an impressive array of 2,352 precious gemstones, including 42 carats of round genuine diamonds. Additionally, 425 black and red stones accentuate the suits, while a removable golden poker chip graces the center of the bracelet, solidifying its status as a truly remarkable piece of craftsmanship and achievement in the world of poker.

“Today will hold a special place in the history of live tournament poker,” said World Series of Poker Senior Vice President and Executive Director, Ty Stewart. “After 17 years, we have named the winner of the largest Main Event in the history of the WSOP. To watch Daniel’s emphatic victory over the 10,043 entrants was nothing short of spectacular.”
