New Year’s Eve Celebrations At Las Vegas Resorts Projected To Attract Over 400K Visitors

It was recently reported that 356.000 tourists is projected to visit Las Vegas for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebration. In addition, when you add to that number the the number of locals who will also be celebrating in downtown Las Vegas and on The Strip, the total number will surpass 400.000.

Room rates:

It was predicted by the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority that visitors will spend $411.4 million for the long weekend, with an overall economic impact involving induced, indirect and direct spending of $727 million. In addition, direct spending represents the money that visitors bring to the destination, and induced and indirect spending includes cash spent again from said direct spending.

As for room prices at Las Vegas resorts, they are more expensive than usual and there are plenty of rooms due to the official openings of Fontainebleau and Durango that occurred earlier in December. Room capacity in Southern Nevada increased by nearly 2.5% compared to 2022 to about 156,100 rooms.

A Dec. 22 room rate poll found that average room rate for this New Year’s Eve was $261.76 per night. The Las Vegas Review-Journal estimates that average room rates for the period December 29 through January 1 remain at 87 rooms, which are based on prices revealed on Hotels.com.

However, there wasn’t any resort that offers room under $100 per night, and the cheapest stays are at the Arizona Charlies’ property on the Boulder Highway ($119 per night) and at the Orleans ($110 per night). As for the most expensive rooms, they are at Red Rock Resort ($603), Paris-Las Vegas ($532), Bellagio ($559) and Palms ($647 per night).

Furthermore, as far as new casino-resorts go, the Durango is already sold out, while the average price at Fontainebleau is $416 per night.

CES kicks off on January 9:

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is slated to start on January 9 of next year, which is the latest beginning date for the event. In addition, a four-day Shooting, Hunting and Outdoors Trade show and a three-day World of Concrete trade show are scheduled to open on January 23rd.

However, it will take 5 days for 66 pyrotechnics and over 90 extra security, hotel staff and engineers to fully install pyrotechnics on the mentioned rooftops, according to the organizers of the event.

Moreover, this celebration will also include music, starting with a traditional song called “Auld Lang Syne,” prior to delving into rock, pop and more hits like Get the Party Started” by Pink, “Dream On” by Aerosmith and “24K Magic” by Bruno Mars. What’s more, the Interstate 15 off-ramps at Flamingo Road in both directions will be closed at 5 a.m. sharp on December 31st. Also, roads closures on Las Vegas Boulevard from Spring Mountain Road to Tropicana Avenue will start a 6.30. As for The Strip, vehicle traffic will be closed in entirety by 8.
