The Western Indian Gaming Conference and trade show has proven to be “one of the most informative conferences in Indian Country,” CNIGA said in a statement. More than 500 tribal leaders, regulators, government officials and industry professionals will be in attendance for this year’s edition of the event.

CNIGA Chairman James Siva will deliver the annual State of the Tribal Nations address on Tuesday, February 20 at 9 a.m., outlining a current view of the tribal gaming industry as well as the most pertinent issues affecting Indian Country in California.

A variety of subjects including political, legal, regulatory and operational issues will be featured in panel discussions throughout the conference. Topics will include tribal-state gaming compacts, sports wagering, illegal gaming at California cardrooms and more.

This year will also feature an expanded tradeshow that will include “a variety of industry leaders and innovators showing off their latest innovations.”

CNIGA was founded in 1988 and is comprised of 52 federally recognized tribal governments and associate members who are dedicated to the tribal government gaming industry. As per the association, CNIGA is dedicated to the purpose of preserving and protecting Indian gaming on federally recognized Indian lands.

It acts as a planning and coordinating agency for legislative, policy, legal and communications efforts on behalf of its members and serves as an industry forum for information and resources.
