Industry

A new Vegas poker room is coming to a major Strip Resort as they completely redesigning their existing room… making it one of the biggest and most modern in Sin City! Plus, the World Series of Poker just published its schedule for 2024, while online poker shared liquidity gets a big boost!

Poker players have a lot to celebrate these days: Shared liquidity is expanding online. The 2024 World Series of Poker begins in just 3 months. But this week’s big story takes us to the Venetian for their new Vegas poker room! One of the most popular places for players to play poker in Nevada is about to get a whole lot better… and bigger! Folks at the Venetian poker room have announced a major overhaul, and just wait till you hear what’s in store!

The 14,000 square foot facility will have 50 tables, which is 15 more than before. There will also be a huge entertainment system, USB ports at every chair, and even a dedicated section for those players who want to Vlog… you know, if you’re into that sort of thing. Located on the second floor of the Grand Canal shops, the new Vegas poker room at the Venetian will be easier to access from the casino. Plus, it will have a dedicated self-serve coffee and soft drink bar. And since there’s a dedicated self-serve coffee and soft drink bar, there will also be dedicated restrooms because… you know. One of the people in charge of poker at the Venetian says the new room will be modern, clean, and and unique.

While there is no official launch date for the new poker room, we do know that it’s slated to open sometime this summer… which coincidentally is when the World Series of Poker comes rolling into town! The WSOP is the biggest event in poker, and it kicks off in Las Vegas at the Horseshoe and the Paris on May 28th, running through the middle of July. So, start making plans now! All in all, there are 99 events on the schedule this year, with buy-ins ranging from just $300 all the way up to a quarter of a million bucks

However, some of the more affordable events will be the $500 Kickoff No Limit Hold ‘Em Freeze Out on May 29th, the $300 Gladiators of Poker No Limit Hold ‘Em event on June 6th, and the $400 Colossus No Limit Hold ‘Em tourney June 28th!  If you have money to burn however, there’s always the $250,000 Super High Roller No Limit Hold ‘Em on June 21st, and of course who can forget the $10,000 Main Event, which will begin on Wednesday July 3rd! You can find the full schedule when you visit WSOP.com

And finally this week, a new Vegas poker room is great, but online poker shared liquidity took another big step forward recently, when BetMGM announced that players in both New Jersey and Michigan would soon be sitting at the same virtual tables! And that may not be all. New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, and Michigan all have online poker shared liquidity compact. And speculation is that players at BetMGM will soon benefit from the company taking advantage of this agreement between the states!

Yes, shared liquidity really is the Holy Grail for American online poker players. But the bigger shared liquidity gets, the more likely it is that the feds are going to step in at some point and cock the whole thing up! But hey, that’s a whole other video my friends. So, enjoy the WSOP this summer, along with the new Vegas poker room at the Venetian!
