Kevin Killeen Crowned SCOOP Afterparty High Main Event Champion

Poker News

A trio of mystery bounty main events brought the 2024 PokerStars SCOOP Afterparty to a conclusion, and Ireland’s Kevin “torino2000” Killeen captured the largest of their prizes. Killeen won the $1,050 edition for $63,508, which included $24,584 worth of mystery bounties.

Many people reading this article will have had a bell ring after seeing Killeen’s name. That is because the Irishman has more than $3 million in online poker tournament cashes and another $1 million from the live arena. These impressive numbers were helped by Killeen winning the UKIPT Dublin Main Event in 2014, finishing third in the 2014 EPT London Main Event, and being the runner-up in the 2015 Irish Open Main Event.

The $1,050 SCOOP Afterparty Main Event drew in 514 entrants, who created a guarantee-busting $514,000 prize pool.

All but two of the nine players at the final table took home at least $14,000 for their efforts. Ninth-place finisher “Nosnibourbos” secured a $14,470 payout thanks to pulling $11,589 from various mystery bounty envelopes before they bowed out.

The elimination of Austria’s “tekelson221” ($14,548) left only five players in the hunt for the title. Those five were reduced to four when “stuupid5,” also of Austria ($14,454), saw their participation end prematurely.

Belarusian “DoryanGh” came unstuck in fourth ($29,708) before “Havana85” of the United Kingdom fell in third ($21,715), sending the high-stakes Main Event into the heads-up stage.
