Lunar New Year Celebrations at The STRAT

The STRAT Las Vegas will host a Lunar New Year celebration honoring the “Year of the Snake,” beginning Wednesday, January 29th 2025. Guests who would like to attend will savor specialty items at CHI Asian Kitchen, be captivated by a traditional lion dance and find luck during an exciting slot tournament to celebrate the occasion.

CHI Asian Kitchen, serving an array of authentic and reimagined Chinese and other Asian dishes, will debut specialty offerings for Lunar New Year. The SHÉ PÍ cocktail, crafted with Patron El Cielo Tequila, yuzu, ginger, honey and coconut clarification, will be priced at $17; while specialty selections will include duck noodle soup and tri color dumplings, priced at $45; and Gochujang-glazed pork belly with blistered asparagus kimchi fried rice, priced at $22.

Guests at The STRAT will also be mesmerized by a traditional lion dance performed by the Lohan School of Shaolin at 8 p.m. on Saturday, 1 February. One of the most popular traditions during Lunar New Year, lion dances are believed to bring prosperity and good fortune for the upcoming year. Performers dance in extravagant lion costumes, which symbolize power, wisdom and superiority, weaving through the casino in a spectacular display of energy, drums, tradition and more.

Guests may also try their luck on the casino floor with a specialty slot tournament. From Thursday, Jan. 30 through Saturday, Feb. 1, True Rewards members may participate in the $25,000 “Year of the Snake Slot Tournament.” Players can participate with a $50 buy-in and 75 winners will share $25,000 in slot play, with first-place winner receiving $6,000 in slot play. Participants may play three rounds of the slot tournament, and there will be $50 hot seat winners during every round.

Nevada residents can always enjoy complimentary self-parking at The STRAT. CHI Asian Kitchen is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Reservations are recommended and may be made online, on-site or by calling 702.380.7711.
