Madrid, November 16, 2020. – Codere has reached an agreement with As.com for the diffusion of the program “Mister Underdog”, the space to know ‘everything’ about soccer, through its digital platform until June 2021; which will be added to its weekly diffusion in Youtube, which has more than 29,5K subscribers since its launch last June.
The program has managed to ‘connect’ every Monday and Thursday live with sport lovers, reviewing the current soccer news in a fresh way and with intelligent humor.
For Juan Manuel Calero Parreño, responsible for online marketing contents at Codere, “our project was born with the aim of offering quality content to those who live sports intensely like us, and -on this basis- we developed a program with a fresh approach to sports news that already has a large group of followers in social networks (Twitter with 14.5K followers and Instagram with 7.5K), being trending topic in 22 of the 25 programs broadcast so far”.

The program has numerous blocks of content accompanied by striking graphics, videos and high-profile guests, which bring dynamism to sports information.
Likewise, “Mister Underdog” brings together a professional team led by the journalist Miguel Quintana, a seasoned broadcaster with an intense career in the website specialized in soccer, Ecos del Balón. He is accompanied weekly by Alberto Edjogo, a veteran of Gol Television and the team’s main analyst, and Dario Eme Hache, who has an extensive career in the digital world with Vine and his counterpoint on the air.
Also collaborating are Adrián Blanco, a talent analyst who comments on anecdotes of the game and, completing the grid, Álvaro Benito, who weekly reviews current tennis news in the section “Football with Rackets”.
This week the Teatro Luchana (in the center of Madrid) will host the gala and upcoming live broadcasts of “Mister Underdog” and, from December, will allow the public to attend every Monday and Thursday of Champions, so that fans can live the experience live in a controlled manner, complying with all Covid protocols.
Boosting Codere’s online strategy
According to Juan Heredero, Codere’s country marketing coordinator, “the company has been able to exploit a niche available in the Spanish market, allowing us to offer fans and customers an attractive complementary offer in content linked to our game offering, which differentiates Codere from the competition. The success of this initiative is very important, since it will allow us to acquire notoriety with a quality project and, later, to be able to replicate it in other markets of the group”. The team is already working on the local adaptation of the format in the different countries in which it operates and hopes to gradually implement it throughout 2021.
