LAS VEGAS (March 30, 2021)The Venetian Resort, the leading meeting and tradeshow venue in Las Vegas, announced two new accreditations and the availability of the Health Pass technology today to supplement the resort’s extensive Venetian Clean meetings protocols.

These new announcements regarding CLEAR, Global Biorisk Advisory Council™ (GBAC), and Sharecare® incorporate further health and safety aspects into on-site conventions, tradeshows and meetings at the 2.5-million-square-foot facility, one of the largest hotel convention centers in the world.

The Venetian Resort was one of the first major meetings properties to release its extensive COVID protocols in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Guided by the Venetian Clean Commitment, the program includes more than 800 cleanliness and operational protocols and incorporates guidance from national, state and local agencies.

“In-person meetings and tradeshows are critical for their ability to drive commerce and networking,” said Chandra Alison, senior vice president of sales for The Venetian Resort and Sands Expo“As meetings safely return to Las Vegas, we stand ready to partner with meeting professionals to plan and host safe meetings, conventions, and tradeshows. Through our Venetian Clean Commitment, we are proud to offer a product that addresses the safety of meetings and customers can book with confidence.”

CLEAR HEALTH PASS TECHNOLOGY

The Venetian Resort and Sands Expo are making available the Health Pass technology from CLEAR, the secure identity company. Meeting and tradeshow organizers will have the option to leverage CLEAR’s Health Pass for a frictionless and secure COVID-19 screening solution.

Health Pass is a mobile experience by CLEAR, which connects a person’s verified identity to multiple layers of COVID-19 related health information. Layers can include a combination of health surveys, temperature-checking kiosks, and linking to COVID-19 lab results and soon vaccination results – all integrated through the CLEAR app.

More than 60 organizations across the country are currently using Health Pass to create safer environments, including teams across all major sports leagues, the state of Hawaii, and many more.

“Across the country, CLEAR’s Health Pass is helping get people back to what they know and love,” said CLEAR CEO Caryn Seidman-Becker. “We are proud to partner with The Venetian Resort and help Las Vegas safely reopen to tradeshow and events.”

NEW ACCREDITATIONS

The Venetian Congress Center and Sands Expo & Convention Center have attained the GBAC STAR™ Facility Accreditation on outbreak prevention, response, and recovery. Recognized as the gold standard of safe venues, GBAC STAR™ provides third-party validation to ensure the implementation of rigorous protocols in response to biorisk situations, certifying that facilities have work practices, protocols, procedures, and systems in place to control risks associated with infectious agents, such as SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19.

“GBAC STAR is the gold standard of safe facilities, providing third-party validation that ensures facilities implement strict protocols for biorisk situations,” said GBAC Executive Director Patricia Olinger. “Accreditation empowers facility owners and managers to assure workers, customers, and key stakeholders that they have proven systems in place to deliver clean and healthy environments that are safe for business.”

In addition, The Venetian Resort was among the first hotels in the world to become Sharecare Health Security VERIFIED® with Forbes Travel Guide. The comprehensive facility verification helps ensure that guests and planners can book with confidence at properties that have appropriate health safety procedures in place.

Developed by Forbes Travel Guide, the global authority on genuine service, and digital health industry leader Sharecare, the comprehensive verification covers more than 360 standards across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience, and health safety communication with guests and employees. Hotels are required to verify their health protocols on an ongoing basis to ensure continued compliance with the most up-to-date global health standards.

This verification comes with an easily identifiable “seal of approval” – the Sharecare VERIFIED® with Forbes Travel Guide badge – based on a hotel’s compliance with expert-validated best practices that minimize the risk and impact of COVID-19 and potential future public health events.

Earlier this year, The Venetian Resort was named to the annual Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards, a distinction it has maintained for the 20th consecutive year.

The Venetian Clean Commitment has also been verified by Bureau Veritas, a nearly 200-year-old world leader in testing, inspection, and certification, with its Safe Guard® Hygiene Excellence and Safety Label.  The Cleveland Clinic serves as the Medical Advisor for Bureau Veritas’ health, safety and sustainability programs including Safe Guard™. The partnership between The Venetian and Bureau Veritas should provide comfort that our resort — from the suites of our hotel towers to the meeting space of the Congress Center — is ready for the enjoyment of our guests.
