Wyoming Sports Betting Passed at Last

Industry

Well, it wasn’t easy. Finally, however, we can welcome Wyoming sports betting to the regulated majority. With Wyoming passing legislation, there are now 26 states where betting on sporting events is legal. Previous efforts to pass a sports betting bill failed.

The Wyoming’s Gambling Commission will regulate the betting. The commission will now begin to work on the regulatory framework which is expected no later than September 1st. Licenses will be available only to those vendors who are operating in at least three American jurisdictions. The license fee is $100,000 and will be good  for five years.

There has also been rumors of online gambling in Wyoming, but that seems to be reserved to web based betting on sports. Operators in the state will pay a 10% tax on their revenue. You can read more on the Wyoming regulation of sports bets at iGB North America.
