Philadelphia Phillies Place Outfielder Roman Quinn on 60 – Day Injured List

Casino News

On Saturday, May 29th, 2021 the Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Roman Quinn left the game against the Tampa Bay Rays during the 5th inning after stumbling and falling as he rounded third base on a Ronald Torreyes’ two – run double. As Quinn got up to hop home on his right leg he was in obvious pain, and Roman had to be carried off of the playing field by the medical staff of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Philadelphia Phillies ended up losing this game against the Tampa Bay Rays with a final score of 5 to 3 last Saturday.

After the Philadelphia Phillies administered tests on the 28 – year – old outfielder, they announced on Sunday, May 30th, 2021 that Quinn suffered a left Achilles tendon injury that caused the Philadelphia Phillies to place Roman on the 60 – day injured list. Many of the doctors and medical staff surrounding this injury and the Philadelphia Phillies have stated that they expect Quinn to miss the remainder of the 2021 Major League Baseball season.

Roman Quinn is often Injured

Quinn seems to be no stranger to the MLB injured list as this most recent injury came only 4 days after he returned to the Philadelphia Phillies roster following three weeks on the injured list due to a deep cut on his right index finger. That cut stemmed from attempting to bunt, and the incision required 9 stitches to eventually close the wound.

Roman has experienced a similar injury back in 2013 during an offseason workout when he ruptured his right Achilles tendon. This year Quinn is carrying a batting average of .173, with 2 runs batted in, 0 home runs, and 4 stolen bases over the course of 28 Major League Baseball games this season with the Philadelphia Phillies.

Replacing Roman Quinn in the Philadelphia Phillies Line – Up

“Outfielder Travis Jankowski has had his contract purchased from Triple – A Lehigh Valley. Jankowski appeared in 350 major league games with San Diego and Cincinnati between 2015 and 2020, hitting .238 with eight homers and 42 RBIs,” according to the sources at ESPN (the worldwide leader in sports).

While replacing Quinn in the Philadelphia Phillies line – up they are looking to remain in contention in the highly competitive National League East division of Major League Baseball. They have recently experienced injury with their franchise player in veteran MLB all – star outfielder, Bryce Harper, who experienced a bruised forearm and they placed him on the 10 – day injured list on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021.

Media Statements

“From the examination, there wasn’t anything that told us that he would be back,” says the Philadelphia Phillies’ manager Joe Girardi following the Philadelphia Phillies 6 to 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday, May 30th, 2021.
