New Orleans Casinos Generate More Than State

Industry

How ya’ll are? Well, New Orleans casinos seem to be doing just fine! As the world moves to regain some normalcy, gambling in The Big Easy is outrunning the rest of the state.

Gambling win across Louisiana was just shy of $230 million in the month of May, which includes the casinos in the New Orleans area, racinos, and the 10 riverboat casinos across the state.

But the city of New Orleans out performed the rest of the state in May, bringing in about $56 million in May… even with pandemic restrictions still in place. Harrah’s was the city’s best performer, up 6.7% and bringing in well over $26 million over that time.

And as well as New Orleans casinos have been performing, the state is expected to add sports betting to their offerings. The legislation has been passed, and the activity could be live by as early as October.
