The current year is almost done and dusted, and it is fair to say 2021 was a year to remember for GGPoker and its legions of players. The online poker giant hit several massive milestones during the past 12 months, some of which are nothing short of staggering.
GGPoker’s Random Number Generator (RNG) dealt an incredible 1.98 billion hands during 2021, the equivalent of 5.42 million hands each and every day! One of those hands stands out from the crowd thanks to it being the largest cash game pot of the past 12-months, one weighing in at $706,701!
GGPoker’s Largest Cash Game Hand of 2021
The biggest cash game pot of 2021 took place at a $500/$1,000/$200a Pot-Limit Omaha game that featured a $2,000 straddle. The action folded to the button, who raised to $7,500. After the small blind folded, the big blind pumped it up to $25,000, which the button called.
A flop reading was greeted by a $53,700 bet from the big blind, and a call from the button. The big blind bet pot, a cool $161,000, on the 8c turn, only for the button to raise to $322,200. The player in the big blind called off their $111,700 stack.

The turn had gifted the button two pair, which gave them 62.5% equity in the hand. A spade or king on the river would see the $706,701 pot slide to the player in the big blind. A brief pause later, the completed the board, strengthening the button’s two pair, and winning them the monster-sized pot. What a way to sign off 2021!
$2.3 Billion in Tournament Prize Pools
Everyone knows that GGPoker is the home to the biggest multi-table tournaments in the online poker world. The site has the figure to back up those claims.
GGPoker awarded $2.3 billion in tournament prizes during 2021! Some $1.52 billion stems from the site’s daily schedule, with another $783 million dished out across the various tournament series.
Those tournament series helped GGPoker give 21 World Series of Poker bracelets and 18 WSOP Circuit rings to players around the world. Incredibly, 277 of GGPoker’s players won at least $1 million from the site’s tournaments in 2021, just think about that for a moment.

Biggest MTT Scores and ROI
Russia’s Aleksei “Ha KoJleHu” Vandyshev was one of those 277 millionaires. They won the site’s biggest prize after triumphing in Event #27: $5,000 Main Event Online Championship. Winning this event saw a gargantuan $2,543,073 make its way to the Russian’s GGPoker balance.
It was during the same WSOP series that the best satellite ROI was achieved. China’s Yi “jolen” Wang won their $1,000 Double Stack No-Limit Hold’em seat via a $100 buy-in satellite. Wang almost went all the way, but ultimately finished in fourth place for $268,019. Before you clamber for a calculator, PokerNews can tell you this equates to a 267,918% Return On Investment!
2021 was a year to remember for a certain Artur Martirosian, a name PokerNews readers are familiar with because he always seems to be deep in a high-stakes tournament. The talented Russian pro enjoyed an eye-popping $8.4 million in cashes during 2021, making him the site’s biggest earner! That is some achievement considering some of the talent on show week in, week out.
