Las Vegas Palms First Tribal Casino in Vegas!

Industry

This week’s gambling news finds the Las Vegas Palms back up and running! Under new management! And becoming the first Tribal casino in Vegas! Plus, a casino billionaire is buying up land on Las Vegas Boulevard! Plus, two new game reviews just in time for Cinco de Mayo!

The Las Vegas Palms is finally back up and running after closing for the pandemic, making them one of the last casinos in Sin City to reopen their doors. But the story here is not THAT the Palms is operating again, so much as WHO is operating the Palms!  While they may have been one of the last to reopen, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is the first Native American Tribe to fully own and operate a Las Vegas casino! And hey, they could not have picked a better time to jump into the game!

Casinos in Las Vegas just hit their third highest revenue totals of all time, bringing in nearly $750 million just in the month of March! And casinos across the state of Nevada just hit their second highest revenue totals of all time, bringing in well over $1.3 billion! This means, of course, that the state’s record-breaking streak of billion-dollar months continues, now reaching lucky number 13. So what better time to reopen a casino? Or re-brand a casino? Or build a new casino?

We know that the Mirage will be rebranded as the Hard Rock. We also know that Bally’s is going to be rebranded as the Horseshoe. And Tropicana may be rebranded as Bally’s. But, as some casinos play musical chairs, at least one is eyeing a brand new casino resort right smack in the middle of the Vegas Strip! Tillman Fertitta, the billionaire owner of the Golden Nugget, is rumored to be buying a 6 acre parcel on Las Vegas Boulevard right next to City Center, and adjacent to the Aria Casino. And it’s only costing him $200 million… which, for you and I, would be the equivalent of buying a six-piece chicken nugget… with fries. You know what? Make it a meal!

This week we celebrate the Cinco de Mayo holiday with muy cerveza! At least, I know I will. Plus, a couple of new Mexican themed game reviews, starting with the El Jackpotto online slot: a five reel, three row, 20 line game from our amigos at Blueprint! It’s funny and irreverent, featuring both a bonus round and bonus spins, plus wild and scatter symbols, a gamble feature, and a mystery bonus. Next up it’s Skulls Gone Wild, a five real game with 10 paylines from NetGaming that celebrates the Mexican festival for the Day of the Dead. It’s a high volatility slot with multipliers and a ton of re-spins. Plus, wild skulls, of course! Both reviews are live right now on our YouTube channel.
