This week’s gambling news finds J.Todd in Sin City, talking about the new Vegas Strip resort and the changes that have begun at Bally’s Casino! Plus, Las Vegas baseball could be a done deal, and updates on what was filmed at the Global Gaming Expo!

Hello friends, and welcome to This Week in Gambling. Jay Todd out here on the beautiful Las Vegas strip, where I’ve just finished filming over at the global Gaming Expo. I thought I’d knock the show out before I head home. This is, after all, the future home of the Oakland Athletics baseball team. I’m joking of course, but it does look like Las Vegas is going to get that baseball team because Oakland really has just dropped the ball.

I got to tell you right up front, there’s not going to be a show next week because I’ll be traveling again. I’m going to another conference in Washington state, so I’m going to make this show our “Halloween” special. Not that I’m doing anything spooky… except wearing this jacket, right? G2E was amazing! I’ve got a lot of footage to share with you at a later date. I’ve got some great game reviews for slot machines and table games, and I’ve got some great interviews that some of you may find interesting as well.

While I was here, Tillman Fertitta, the billionaire owner of the Golden Nugget, also announced that his recent land purchase on Las Vegas Boulevard will be a new Vegas Strip resort, right across from Aria, with 43 stories and 2,400 rooms in it. I don’t know if they’re going to call it the Golden Nugget, because they’ve got one downtown. They could have one on the strip. I kind of hope they do call it the Golden Nugget, because well I’ve got the jacket for it.

Anyway, one of the things I did want to share with you since this is our “Halloween” show is that I I just released a video review for the Frankenstein slot machine, from Light & Wonder. I saw it while I was here at the show, and let me tell you it was amazing. The graphics, the music, the game play, the payouts… it was really an experience. Hopefully that’s going to be out on casino floor near you. In keeping with our “Halloween” theme I also wanted to let you know that, in addition to the Frankenstein slot machine review, that we just put out we have two Halloween online slot reviews to share with you this week.

We start with the Spooky Graves slot from GameArt. It is a five reel, three row, 25 payline game, but you’re really playing this for the Grave Digger bonus round that has random wilds and up to 10 free spins! Next up it’s Mega Moolah, The Witch’s Moon from Microgaming. It has five reels and 25 paylines, a bonus round and bonus spins, Wilds, Scatters, and multiple jackpots! So, you can find both of those game reviews when you visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

Now, I will say this that in addition to the liveliness of the city and a new Vegas Strip resort being planned, Bally’s is about to be gone. I told you on a previous show that it was going to become the Horseshoe, and that transition, my friends is underway. You may see some of the construction behind me over here, where they’ve got the scaffolding up to keep people from being hit from pieces of the sign that, you know, might accidentally fall. So there’s that. And they’ve taken the name Bally’s off the building up here. You can see where it used to be, but the letters have come down. So Vegas is always changing, and I’m always getting new weird jackets. It’s been a great show, I look forward to sharing with all of you all the stuff that I recorded.
