Hello friends. I’ve returned from my unscheduled two weeks away just in time to tell you about what’s going down in Las Vegas on the 4th of July and the big four day weekend. And that is this week’s big story. Up first, however, a quick update on the Las Vegas baseball stadium, as the Nevada state legislature has already approved funding for the $1.5 billion project, and the governor has already signed off on it. So, is that it? Does Las Vegas have a baseball team? Not quite yet.

Major League Baseball still has to approve this move and that could take months and months. But one thing that is clear is that MLB has already told the team that they are going to waive the $300 million relocation fee that they traditionally charge teams in these types of situations. And since that $300 million is approximately what they were asking for in public support, I’m wondering if they plan to give that money back to the people of Nevada who are helping them build this Stadium? Ha ha ha! That’s funny!

Now, returning to our main story: Perhaps you already have plans to visit Las Vegas on the 4th of July four-day weekend. Or maybe you’re going to throw something together at the last minute and jet on down. Either way, our friends at casino City have you covered with their complete list of things to do in Sin City for Independence Day. From where to watch one of the many fireworks displays to great entertainment and nightlife, to fine dining and sporting events that are taking place! Just visit Casino City Times for details and to learn what else is going down in Las Vegas!

Also, while I was away for the past couple of weeks, the team here at This Week in Gambling released a brand new game review video for the Dragon slot machine, a 5 reel game with up to 25 lines from our friends at Light & Wonder. This is a multi-denominational game with the Cash on Reels mechanic, and Persistent Cash Collection Zones! It also comes with a Wheel Feature and a Progressive Jackpot! Find this review, and hundreds more, when you visit and subscribe to our YouTube channel.

And finally this week, we all know that Hard Rock International purchased the Mirage Las Vegas last year. And that they have plans to tear down the iconic volcano attraction that everybody loves so much, in favor of putting up a giant, guitar-shaped hotel. Whatever. But this week they did announce that at least one thing at the Mirage will be staying for a while! The Cirque du Soleil show Beatles: Love has been extended until at least 2024. And that means, my friends, that by the time this Beetle show eventually ends at some future date, it will have run longer than the actual Beatles band was together. Well Twist and Shout!
