Mirage Volcano Shut Down (But Not Gone)!

Industry

Have we seen the Mirage Volcano shut down for good? The attraction at the popular Las Vegas resort has been turned off! And while you will have another chance to see it one last time, you better hurry! Plus, a look at gambling news from Mexico and two new Halloween slot game reviews!

Hello friends! Happy Halloween! And welcome to This Week in Gambling, where we begin with some news that is certain to scare the hell out of some of you! And that is the Mirage Volcano shut down. But don’t worry, you may still have a chance to see it one… last… time. Now before we go any further, allow me to say that while the volcano has been shut down it has not been torn down. Mirage simply shut off the volcano so that they could build grand stands along Las Vegas Boulevard and sell tickets for people to watch the big F1 race that’s coming up. Rumor has it that once the race is over, Mirage will turn the volcano back on. The question is, for how long?

Hard Rock says the volcano will be back in action by December 8th. Of course, Hard Rock also says that the volcano will be torn down sometime in 2024… And that means, my friends… that your time your chances to get to Las Vegas and see the Mirage Volcano one last time is slowly running out. Rumor has it that construction on the new Hard Rock Hotel and Casino will begin early in 2024… and despite public outcry and a failed petition, there are no plans to save the Mirage Volcano. So if you love it, go see it before the final Mirage Volcano shut down next year.

On a happier note, Halloween is upon us… and we just released two new festive game reviews starting with the Witches Tome slot, a five reel, three row game with 243 pay lines from Habanero. There are high levels of volatility, magic book wilds, spooky cauldron scatters that trigger free spins, and even a buy bonus. Next up is the Rags to Witches online slot, a five reel, three row game from BetSoft that comes with scatter symbols, free spins, and four progressive jackpots! Both of these game reviews are live right now on our YouTube channel.

And finally this week, Vegas may see a Mirage Volcano shut down, but Mexico could have it worse. In a story that almost sounds made up, the government of Mexico is considering legislation that would ban slot machines across the entire country! And while I do admittedly joke around quite a bit, I’m not making this shit up! The Secretary of Interior is proposing a nationwide slot machine ban, and if it passes I would like like to welcome all my Amigos down Mexico way to come north and play our slot machines here in America! That is, if you can get across the border… which I don’t anticipate being an issue.
