Sports technology giant Sportradar announced Thursday that the Maine Gambling Control United (MGCU) has granted its US betting subsidiary, Sportradar Solutions LLC, a temporary Sports Betting Supplier License.

With the license granted in the Pine Tree State on November 1, Sportradar now boasts a total of 53 licenses, or equivalent, in North America across U.S. states, territories, tribes and Canada.

The ongoing expansion allows Sportradar to provide its products and services to a wide range of clients operating within these jurisdictions, delivering fast, accurate and reliable sports data to sports betting and gaming agencies and advancing transparency and integrity across the marketplace, says the company.

With Maine having launched both retail and online wagering on November 3, sports betting is now legal and live in 37 U.S. states, as well as the District of Columbia, according to data from the American Gaming Association (AGA).

Sportradar Group AG, founded in 2001, is a global sports technology company that provides sports federations, news media, consumer platforms and sports betting operators with a range of data solutions.

The company is a partner of sports organizations including the NBA, NHL, MLB, NASCAR, UEFA, FIFA and Bundesliga, and covers close to a million events annually across major sports.

The announcement follows Sportradar’s confirmation earlier in the week of a new partnership with Caribbean and Latin American gaming company Caribbean CAGE. The multi-year agreement followed a competitive tender process.

Under the terms of the deal, Sportradar has been selected as the official technology and services provider to the operator as it seeks to establish a sports wagering offering for bettors in multiple jurisdictions including Antigua-Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Saint Lucia, and St. Kitts-Nevis.
