May 4 is often called “Star Wars Day” but May 4 this year won’t involve Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, or light sabers, but high-octane poker action from the EAPT Grand Final and EAPT Cyprus events.
The EAPT has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and things are about to explode in North Cyprus this May. Not only is the EAPT running a $2,200 EAPT Grand Final and a $1,100 EAPT Cyprus event, but those two tournaments make up part of the bustling Mediterranean Poker Party schedule, meaning their guaranteed prize pools are huge.
The $2,200 EAPT Grand Final will be massive, not least because it boasts a $2 million guarantee on its prize pool. PokerNews‘ live reporting team will be on the tournament floor at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa throughout the EAPT Grand Final, which runs May 4-8.
Recent EAPT Malta champion Lorenzo Di Blasi will be in attendance after receiving a €5,000 package on top of the €50,225 cash prize. Antonio Puntas, the EAPT Madrid champion, and winner of EAPT Bratislava, Miklos Zsuffa, will also be flexing their poker muscles in the 2024 EAPT Grand Final after winning similar packages.
PokerNews‘ coverage of the $1,100 EAPT Cyprus event runs from May 10-12. Its guarantee is impressive at $500,000, but the final prize pool could climb higher with the influx of poker grinders to the Mediterranean Poker Party.
2024 Mediterranean Poker Party Schedule
The Mediterranean Poker Party (MPP) runs from May 2 to 12. It combines five-star luxury, glorious sunshine, and hot poker action at the Merit Royal Diamond Hotel & Spa.
In addition to the pair of EAPT events, the $5,300 buy-in, $5 million guaranteed MPP Main Event has players tingling with excitement. Thanks to the influx of satellite winners, there is every chance that the 2024 MPP Main Event will be one of the softest $5K live events on the live poker tournament calendar.
Over 250 players have won their seats via live and online satellites, with more expected to turn small investments into a shot at the big time in the coming days.
GGPoker is guaranteeing 50x $10,000 packages via the Flight to MPP tournaments. The $1,100 final takes place at 7:00 p.m. BST on April 21, with players able to play their way through $11 buy-in Stage 1 and $110 buy-in Stage 2 tournaments.
Those players arriving in North Cyprus fashionably early can enter a $660 buy-in live satellite at 8:00 p.m. local time on May 1 that has 50x $5,300 MPP Main Event seats guaranteed.
2024 MPP High Roller Schedule
A few last-minute additions have been made to the already impressive MPP schedule, with six high rollers scheduled between May 5 and 11. Buy-ins for the high rollers start at $10,400 and increase to $51,000, and up to $2 million is guaranteed!
PokerNews will provide you with live and exclusive coverage of the $1,100 Luxon Pay Mystery Bounty (May 2-4), the $5,300 MPP Main Event (May 7-12), and the $10,400 High Roller (May 10-11) in addition to the $2,200 EAPT Grand Final (May 4-8) and the $1,100 EAPT Cyprus (May 10-12). Exciting times are ahead.
