The El Cortez Hotel & Casino just rolled out their finished renovation project on February 20th, including three new food and beverage outlets. Even the mayor showed up, as the property is the longest continuously open hotel and casino in the city. The expansion was completed in partnership with McCarthy Building Companies.

El Cortez owner and CEO, Kenny Epstein, spoke to the crowds while standing in front of the newly remodeled ShowBar, expressing his excitement about this new chapter in the hotel’s legendary history. His comments were shared by other executives at the downtown property, as well as Mayor Shelley Berkley who added the date was “El Cortez Hotel & Casino Day” in the city.

Guests were treated to a variety of delicious offerings, including bites from Hot Noods by Chinglish, the latest dining venue from Michelin Guide-recognized Chef Po Fai Lam and Operating Partner Kitty Heck. Signature cocktails from the casino’s new Roulette Bar kept the energy high, while live music by singer Michael Nugent set the mood.

El Cortez was originally operated by legendary figures like Bugsy Siegel, and the hotel remains dedicated to preserving its vintage charm and rich history. The $20 million expansion included an additional 10,000 square feet of casino space, a new high-limit lounge, and a Starbucks coffee shop.
