Senet has today announced the appointment of Paul Newson as Head of Advisory Practice.

Paul Newson, the former Deputy Secretary in the NSW Department of Industry, responsible for liquor, gambling and racing public policy and regulation in NSW, has joined specialist gambling law and advisory firm, Senet, to head the Advisory practice.

Paul has extensive gambling industry experience including:

• Former Deputy Secretary, Liquor, Gaming & Racing

• Former CEO, Greyhound Racing NSW

• Current President of the International Association of Gaming Regulators

• Trustee of the NSW Responsible Gambling Fund (responsible for enhancing the RGF’s capability and leading its refreshed strategic direction)

• Former Executive Director, NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing

Paul will be responsible for, for example, strategic planning, regulatory strategy and policy, independent reviews and investigations, product approvals, responsible gambling, risk management and compliance frameworks.
