888poker Millions Superstorm: “yarik1903” Wins Sunday Special ($19,350)

The biggest online poker festival ever to take place in the long history of 888poker is more than a week through its schedule with the Millions Superstorm guaranteeing at more than $8 million across 480 tournaments from Sept. 10 to Oct. 11.

The highlight of the festival is the two-day $320 888Millions Superstorm Main Event boasting a huge $1 million guarantee. Opening flights have already begun for this event and there are plenty of chances every day for you to earn a ticket to this event for free.

Ukraine’s “yarik1903” was the star of the weekend after winning the 888Millions $215 Sunday Special for $19,350.

This is still shy of the biggest single cash of the festival thus far. This honor belongs to United Arab Emirates’ “nagidh”, who shipped the 888Millions High Roller for a cool $25,000 earlier last week.

“yarik1903” Wins 888Millions $215 Sunday Special ($19,350)

It took just under nine hours for “yarik1903” to turn their $215 buy-in into a huge haul of almost $20,000. They battled through a field of 458 entries including 113 re-entries to win the biggest share of the $100,000 guaranteed prize pool in the 888Millions $215 Sunday Special.

The victory was hardly the first online success for the Ukrainian grinder. The $19,350 from Sunday’s win pushes their 888poker winnings over $250,000 and their total online earnings stand at over $2.5 million. The victory also bests their previous high score at 888poker, which was when he took fifth place in the XL Blizzard #16 – $250,000 High Roller in January of 2018 for $17,500.

Two players waving the Union Jack flag were also at the final table but failed to make the podium in Stewart “stew_23” Kilpatrick (fourth – $8,250) and Ben “xLIVEPROx” Warrington (ninth – $1,750).

Ukraine’s “yarik1903” wasn’t the only player to win big as there were dozens of Millions Superstorm events over the weekend at 888poker. Also hauling in a five-digit score was Canada’s “Msea_13” who shipped the 888Millions $109 Sunday Mega Deep – $100,000 GTD for $18,890.

888Millions Superstorm Main Event Update

Opening flights for the Superstorm Main Event are underway with thus far 1,373 entrants (including 150 inflight re-entries) already hopping into the action in hopes for a lion’s share of the at least $1 million guaranteed in the prize pool.

A total of 205 players and counting have thus far virtually bagged a stack with many more to come. Brazil’s “vitola99” has kept the chip lead for well more than a week after growing his 10,000 opening chip stack into a monster stack of 227,527 in chips.

The top ten on the leaderboard remains the same for nearly a week. Here is a look at some of the players to already bag monster stacks heading into Day 2:

The Main Event provides plenty of action with 20-minute blind levels on Day 1. Opening flights end the sooner of 12 blind levels in the books or the field trimmed down to 14 percent of its starting size.

The next opening flight takes place on Monday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. GMT / 3 p.m. EDT. There are plenty of satellites for players to qualify for pennies on the dollars along with many paths for players to get their tickets for free!
