DraftKings Buys VSiN to Delve Deeper into Sports Betting Content Creation

Latest News

US gambling and daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings has continued its expansion into the sports betting content space by announcing this week that it has purchased Vegas Sports Information Network, Inc. (VSiN) for an undisclosed amount.

VSiN was founded in 2017 by legendary sports broadcaster Brent Musburger and his family and operates as a multi-platform and content company that delivers sports betting news, analyses, and data to US sports fans.

DraftKings said that the acquisition of the network will help it further bolster its content capabilities while also augmenting VSiN’s ability to broaden its audience of sports aficionados at an exciting time for the US sports betting industry.

VSiN is based in Las Vegas and develops, produces, and distributes more than 18 hours of live linear sports wagering-focused content each and every day. Its content can be accessed via a 24/7 stream as well as via a number of video and audio channels, terrestrial radio stations throughout the US, and a growing number of podcasts and betcasts.

DraftKings, which last year opened a Las Vegas office, said that VSiN’s current employees in the city will be integrated into the sports betting company’s 2,600-person global workforce.

VSiN to Maintain Content Independence

Under the terms of the acquisition deal, the sports betting content network will maintain its editorial independence. In addition, its current leadership team, including VSiN Chief Executive Brian Musburger, will continue to manage the content network’s day-to-day operations.

Commenting on this recent acquisition, DraftKings co-founder, CEO, and Chairman Jason Robins said that VSiN “creates authentic and credible content that resonates with sports bettors at every level.”

He further pointed out that in addition to its brand equity among sports bettors and its roster of talented content makers, the network also has an established infrastructure that the wagering operator can immediately help expand as it looks to add value to “consumers who are looking to become more knowledgeable about sports betting.”

VSiN’s CEO added that they created the network as a hub for sports fans and bettors to “find the most credible content to help inform their wagering decisions and that “harnessing the power and network of the DraftKings brand” will present them with the opportunity to reach an even wider audience.

VSiN last year teamed up with another sports betting business to produce unique content for bettors from all parts of the nation. The content creator partnered with BetMGM for the launch of the Betting Across America show. BetMGM is the iGaming and digital wagering brand of ROAR Digital, the joint venture that casino giant MGM Resorts International and European gambling powerhouse Entain (formerly GVC Holdings) formed in 2018.
