NIGC Compliance Officer Jo’Elle Thompson named to ELG “40 Under 40” Class of 2025

The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) announced Thursday that Compliance Officer Jo’Elle Thompson has been named to the Emerging Leaders of Gaming (ELG) “40 Under 40” Class of 2025, recognizing her contributions to the casino gaming industry.

The ELG “40 Under 40,” an initiative by The Innovation Group (TIG) in partnership with Global Gaming Business magazine, honors young professionals under the age of 40 who are making a significant impact in the gaming sector. Recipients are celebrated not only for their achievements but also for shaping the future of innovation and leadership in the industry.

“At the NIGC, we take pride in our dynamic workforce who work tirelessly to carry out our mission and support our partner tribal gaming regulators and operators,” said Dustin Thomas, NIGC Chief of Staff. “Jo’Elle is a testament to that. We are fortunate to have some of the most talented and dedicated individuals who work diligently to uphold the integrity of Indian gaming and ensure it remains sustainable for the future.”

Shawnna Castellano, NIGC Washington, D.C. Region Director, also commended Thompson’s dedication: “Jo’Elle possesses a passion for the gaming industry, especially for Indian gaming, to succeed and continue to prosper while protecting its integrity to benefit future generations.”

Thompson is a member of the Seneca Nation of Indians and has played a pivotal role in supporting tribal gaming regulators, the NIGC said in a statement.
